The Hans Wegner CH24 Wishbone Chair is a high quality reproduction of Hans Wegner's CH24 Wishbone Chair designed in 1949. Hans Wenger is regarded as one of the most innovative Danish furniture designers, and credited with helping Danish design to rise to international popularity. Though he started his career as a cabinet maker, Danish design icon Hans Wegner made a name for himself with his aptitude for a much comfier bit of home decor. First manufactured in 1950, the Wishbone Chair cemented Wegner's status as one of the biggest names in midcentury modern style with its sleek, ergonomically-minded wooden frame and woven seat.

Hans J. Wegner opened his own drawing oﬃce in 1943. In 1944, he designed the ﬁrst China Chair in a series inspired by Chinese chairs from the Ming dynasty. One of these chairs, the Wishbone Chair, designed in 1949 and produced by Carl Hansen & Søn since 1950, went on to become Wegner's most successful design of all time. Although Hans Wegner’s (1914–2007) Wishbone chair stands as a classic exemplar of mid-century Danish design, its aesthetic roots actually begin farther east.In the 1940s, Wegner, then a recent graduate of The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and working for Arne Jacobsen and Erik Møller, was inspired by a series of photos of Danish merchants sitting in Chinese Ming Dynasty–era armchairs.
